Board of Directors

  • Jenna Horner (she/her)

    President

Jenna grew up in Kennebunk, ME, and has always thrived living next to the water. After studying Queer Performance Art and Communications at McGill University in Montreal (BA, MA), she moved to NYC and worked with a number of women’s health care, queer advocacy, and veteran’s health care groups.

She now splits her time in Maine and Luxembourg, working as a project manager with nonprofits and web consultancies. She loves languages, travel, bookstores, birds, and being outside—but meeting new people and hearing their stories is what she enjoys most of all

  • Bernadette Kroon PT, DPT, GCS, CEEAA (she/her)

    Vice President

Bernadette has been a practicing physical therapist since 1988. She has primarily practiced in rehabilitation. Her area of expertise is adult rehabilitation with a focus on acquired brain injury, complex medical conditions and aging.

Currently, Bernadette works with the geriatric population and is interested in their ability to remain active participants in their own lives and their community. Bernadette works closely with OTs in clinical practice and training and is interested in inter-professional education and practice to better meet the needs of clients.

In her free time, Bernadette enjoys traveling, visiting family in the Netherlands, running, and reading.

  • Mary Macaluso MOT, OTR/L (she/her)

    Treasurer

Mary has been practicing occupational therapy since she earned her Master’s Degree in 2018 from the University of Southern Maine. She received an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences with a minor in Women’s Studies, which inspired her commitment to equity, inclusion, and holistic care.

Mary’s passion for healthcare stems from a lifelong commitment to working with people and providing care that is both ethical and person-centered. She believes in never taking the easy way out and always advocating for equal access and dignity for every individual she serves.

Outside of her professional work, Mary has been a dedicated CrossFitter for over 12 years. She’s a new birder, an avid explorer of the woods, and a proud caretaker of many plants. Above all, she treasures time spent with her dog, Ellis — her pride and joy.

To Mary, occupational therapy isn’t just a profession — it’s a core part of who she is. She brings that same dedication, empathy, and integrity to her work on the board, striving to advance equitable care and meaningful engagement for all.
