The Problem

Kids face hardship.

Sports help, but many kids lack access.

1 in 5

kids in Maine have two or more adverse childhood experiences.

1 in 3

kids in underserved communities, nationally, lack a safe place to play.

Skate to Relate is an evidence-based, therapeutic skateboarding program working to mitigate the effects of adverse childhood experiences and provide local youth with places to play.

Regardless of income, gender identity, religion, or ethnic background, all children and adolescents deserve equal access to health-promoting activities that are engaging, self-expressive, and act as protective factors for overall healthy growth and development.
